What is amber?
Amber is a resin produced by coniferous trees, generally with yellowish coloring. Amber comes in hundreds of shades and variations.
Yellow
The Yellow color of this stone is generally the most common.
Green
Green amber can be found naturally, however some varieties are from treating amber with heat and pressure.
Red
Red amber is the 2nd most rare, and also can be created by applying very high heat to amber.
Blue
Blue amber is extremely rare and found in the Dominican Republic.
Black
Some people don’t think there is technically black amber. It is amber that contains a lot of soil, debris, or other inclusions which makes the amber dark in color.
