Hi, I’m Margaret, the reseller and creator behind Texas Gal Treasures.
I’ve spent years sourcing, researching, listing and selling secondhand and vintage items online. What started as a way to earn extra income grew into a reselling business, a YouTube channel and now a growing library of practical guides designed to help other resellers make better decisions.
Texas Gal Treasures is where I share the methods I actually use when I’m standing in a thrift store, digging through an estate sale, researching an unfamiliar piece of jewelry or trying to figure out what something might really sell for on eBay.

My goal isn’t just to put a name on an item. It’s to help you understand what clues matter and what you should research next.

Vintage & Thrift Store Research
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a reseller is that interesting, old or collectible does not automatically mean valuable.
I share the research process I use to decide whether something is actually worth picking up.
That includes looking at:
- Maker and brand
- Materials
- Age and version
- Condition
- Recent sold prices
- Current competition
- Shipping difficulty
- Realistic profit
I especially love researching those odd thrift store and estate sale finds where the first question is simply:

Learning What Things Are Actually Worth
One of the most important skills a reseller can learn is how to research value.
I use recent sold listings and comparable sales to see what buyers have actually paid rather than relying only on active asking prices.
Throughout the site, I share the same research methods I use in my own reselling business so you can make better decisions about what to buy, how to price it and when something may be better left behind.
eBay Selling for Beginners
If you’re new to eBay, I know how overwhelming it can feel.
There are listings, photos, titles, prices, shipping, fees, offers and a whole lot of decisions that suddenly seem important.
My eBay guides break those steps down into manageable pieces.

You don’t have to know everything before you start. Most resellers learn by doing, researching and improving one listing at a time.
AI for Resellers
I’m also exploring how tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Google Lens and eBay’s own search and AI features can help resellers work smarter.
I use these tools for things like:
- Identifying unfamiliar finds
- Researching items while sourcing
- Finding better search terms
- Improving listings
- Comparing information
- Troubleshooting old inventory
But I don’t treat AI as the final answer.
I still verify important information, look at actual sold comps and use my own experience before making a buying or selling decision.
That real-world combination of technology, research and reseller judgment is a growing part of what I share here.
